Ethical Recruitment Standard
Part VII defines the Ethical Recruitment Standard — the operational core of NOVARIC®'s contribution to SDG 8 and SDG 10. It converts the principles of the ILO Fair Recruitment Initiative and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights into non-waivable controls applied to every placement.
Employer-pays, without exception
No candidate is ever charged a fee or related cost for recruitment — at any stage, in any market, under any label. The employer-pays principle is absolute because fee-charging is the primary mechanism by which recruitment creates debt bondage and enables exploitation.
The decent-work quality gate
Every placement file must evidence lawful contract terms, verified wages meeting applicable standards, compliant working hours, occupational safety arrangements and social-protection coverage before approval. Files that cannot evidence every criterion are rejected, and the rejection is recorded. The gate is non-waivable: commercial urgency is not a criterion.
Blind first-stage screening
Name, gender, age and origin markers are removed from candidate files before first-stage competency assessment. Funnel data is reviewed quarterly by demographic cohort; divergence beyond tolerance triggers a screening-protocol audit.
Modern-slavery vigilance
NOVARIC® maintains modern-slavery risk assessment across its operations and supply chain, aligned with SDG target 8.7. Indicators of forced labour — document retention, debt, restriction of movement, undisclosed deductions — are standing red flags in host-employer assessment, and their detection triggers defined escalation and, where warranted, reporting.
Transparency to the candidate
Every candidate receives written terms in a language they understand before any commitment is made, covering role, remuneration, hours, deductions, accommodation arrangements and grievance channels.
