Global status in 2025
The UN Sustainable Development Goals Report 2025 records that 123.2 million people were forcibly displaced by the end of 2024 — more than double the 2015 figure — and that nearly 50,000 lives were lost to conflict in 2024 alone. While global homicide rates fell 12 per cent between 2015 and 2023, progress towards the goal's targets remains far below requirement.
